AI Data Engineer
About the Role
Visory Health is looking for an AI Data Engineer to own the design and execution of AI-powered data pipelines and operational efficiency initiatives. In this role, you’ll build systems that gather, validate, transform, and load data into our internal databases, while also supporting AI tool set-up, optimization and adoption across the organization.
What You'll Do
• Design and maintain AI-assisted pipelines for gathering and processing data, preparing it for database ingestion
• Build prompt engineering workflows and extraction logic using LLMs and third-party AI tools to automate structured data collection
• Validate, normalize, and transform data to meet internal schema requirements before database upload
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and ops teams to identify data quality issues and resolve them upstream
• Document data lineage, transformation logic, validation rules, unauthorized events, and AI hallucinations to support compliance and audit readiness
• Coordinate with legal and compliance to vet AI tools against HIPAA requirements and internal data governance standards before deployment
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI tools that improve data processing speed and accuracy while maintaining company security standards
• Partner with internal stakeholders to continuously improve data pipeline reliability and coverage
• Evaluate, configure, and deploy third-party AI tools that improve workflows across operations and administrative functions
• Build and maintain lightweight automations to reduce repetitive manual work
• Lead internal training and onboarding for new AI tools, serving as the go-to resource for non-technical staff learning to use them effectively
• Track and report on tool adoption and efficiency gains; quantify time savings and surface insights to leadership
• Manage vendor relationships for deployed AI tools, including renewals, troubleshooting, and feature requests
Who We're Looking For
• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business operations, and/or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Python, JavaScript, Postgress and SQL; experience with data pipeline tools
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs or AI-assisted data extraction (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and structured output design
• Experience working with data validation frameworks
• Strong communication skills — able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
• Experience working with relational databases
• Background in healthcare tech or PBM experience
• Ability to instruct and manage tool adoption thoughout the organization
• Comfortable navigating a regulated environment; familiar with HIPAA or willing to learn quickly
• Excellent communicator who can translate technical capabilities into plain language for clinical or ops teams
