You’ll work at the core of our production environment, turning trained models into performant, reliable, and continuously improving services that power our open-web and CTV products.This is an applied ML systems role—equal parts engineering depth, deployment craft, and model intuition. You’ll shape how models are packaged, versioned, rolled out, and observed across environments, ensuring every prediction is fast, accurate, and accountable.<h3>What it takes to succeed in this role:</h3><ul><li>Deep expertise in model deployment. You’ve built or scaled production ML serving systems—handling versioning, rollouts, rollback strategies, and live experimentation. </li><li>Low-latency mindset. You understand what makes inference fast: model graph optimization, quantization, caching, batching, and efficient feature retrieval. </li><li>Systems fluency. You write robust, high-performance code in Go, Rust, C++, or Java, and are comfortable bridging to Python for model integration and analysis. </li><li>Operational maturity. You treat inference as a living system—monitoring drift, tracking model lineage, and ensuring observability from input to outcome. </li><li>Infrastructure intuition. You know how to make serving systems reproducible and portable without over-engineering them, whether that’s through custom runtime design, model registries, or lightweight orchestration. </li><li>Applied ML understanding. You can reason about model performance, interpret trade-offs, and work with researchers to make models more deployable.</li></ul>A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. These Applications products are key to Yobi success, as they ground the value of our R&amp;D, power continuous experimentation and improvement, and provide significant data for improving our core embeddings.As an MLE on this team, you will primarily be focused on the models, metrics, pipelines, systems, and services that power and deliver excellence via Yobi Applications products.This role involves a large degree of 0-to-1 development, and will rely on collaboration with Product, core signals MLEs, and leaning on your own expertise and insight in building holistic ML-powered products. While we currently have a product in the market here, we invite big bets to expand impact and reach.Significant "wearing your Product hat" is expected, along with driving results in the many domains required to deliver whole ML-powered products - we are a quickly growing startup after all!<h3>What it takes to succeed in this role:</h3><ul><li>Understanding enough about machine learning to be dangerous but not necessarily published in the field. This means you have worked on and can speak to impactful consumer-facing ML problems, e.g. recommender systems, personalization, etc. that you have directly contributed to.</li><li>Skill and attitude wise, you can quickly contribute to the “full stack” of our pipeline. This includes things such as data orchestration, build systems, and experiment tracking. Although we use a combination of open source products like Airflow, Bazel, Github CI/CD, and Spark, prior experience with these specific solutions is not needed. However, a good part of your day to day will involve interacting with these systems, so you should be comfortable with getting your hands dirty.</li><li>Good product sense, has opinions on what we should and shouldn’t be doing both in chasing product-market fit and on the implementation side.</li></ul>A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. Day to day responsibilities include data processing, model training, deployment, and evaluation.A good amount of "wearing your Product hat" is expected, as well as the ability to flex into some other functions as needed - we are a quickly growing startup after all.<h3>What it takes to succeed in this role:</h3><ul><li>You understand enough about machine learning to be able to apply it to novel problems and suggest improvements to our current setup, or even radical new approaches. Previous publication experience is not required.</li><li>You've worked on and can speak to at least some of: representation learning, embeddings drift, CTR modeling, sequence modeling, etc., preferably on "big data" in an industrial setting.</li><li>Skill and attitude wise, you can quickly contribute to the non-research components of our pipeline. This includes things such as data orchestration, build systems, and experiment tracking. Although we use a combination of open source products like Airflow, Bazel, Github CI/CD, and Spark, prior experience with these specific solutions is not needed.
